  • I have been a Curves member for 6 months now. Since joining Newcastle Curves my whole attitude towards myself has changed. I am a more confident person and have a lot more energy. I try to work out at least 5 times a week. One of the biggest changes for me was the way I ate. Before, I ate a lot of junk food and snacked a lot at night. Now I eat more healthfully by reading labels and watching how much fat goes into my mouth. I have pretty much cut out junk food from my diet, but I do sneak the occasional treat. I don’t feel as though I am missing out on anything by my lifestyle changes and I am never hungry. I make sure that I start every day with a good breakfast, which I never ate in the past and a healthy lunch and supper as well as 2 snacks. I also walk 2 miles every morning before work and get to curves as much as possible. The ladies at Newcastle Curves are so awesome. They have all been extremely supportive and motivate me every visit. I could not have done this without them. I’m sure they will continue to kick my butt till I reach my goals. Thank You girls for helping me turn my life in a new direction.

  • Years ago I was a Curves member and enjoyed the program very much, but due to changes in my personal circumstances I was not able to continue my membership. In October 2009, I joined Curves Newcastle after talking to friends about how much they were enjoying themselves. Since then I have lost over 45 pounds and 40 inches and have gone from having to buy size 18 to now buying size 10. I still have a ways to go to reach my goal but I have no doubt that I will get there. The staff and members at Curves Newcastle are very supportive and always positive and upbeat. If I can make a suggestion to anyone who is trying to get motivation to be healthier it would be to use Curves Smart, join the challenges and always believe in yourself and that you can reach your goals. I really believe that if I can do it anyone can. It isn’t a ‘cake walk’; it does take work but with all the support available it is possible.

Janine knows what it takes to reach her goal: hard work and a right mind set. She is consistent with her workouts and joins all the in-club challenges. She inspires all of her friends (many of whom have also joined Newcastle Curves) with her "no excuses" attitude. Janine has also haD great success with our CurvesSmart Program. Way to go Janine!!
